Climate Depot’s A-Z Climate Reality Check makes a mockery of Gore and company’s claims.
Al Gore’s trek to Antarctica with global warming activists Richard Branson, NASA’s James Hansen and Climategate’s Kevin Trenberth among many others, is designed to alarm the public that somehow something is amiss there. Gore is warming of a melting continent.
“The ice on land is melting at a faster rate and large ice sheets are moving toward the ocean more rapidly. As a result, sea levels are rising worldwide,” Gore wrote on January 31 during his visit to Antarctica. [See: Gore in Antarctica! Warns of rapid melting and rising seas! See more reports on Gore’s Antarctic trip here.]
But beginning on page 7, Climate Depot’s A-Z Climate Reality Check makes a mockery of Gore and company’s claims. The vast majority of Antarctica is cooling and gaining ice, according to recent peer-reviewed studies and data. As for sea levels, Gore is apparently clueless on the latest sea level data. See: European Space Agency global sea level reveals ‘two year long decline was continuing, at a rate of 5mm per year’ & ‘In August 2011, NASA announced that global sea level was dropping and was ‘a quarter of an inch lower than last summer.’
This is a good read with links to study after study demonstrating the inconvenient reality.
Will this affect our inane policies? Will this finally cause our leaders to rethink our energy policies?
Me thinks not. Not until we have new leaders with clear heads and no money in the game.

A leading member of Richard Muller’s team has accused him of trying to mislead the public by hiding the fact that BEST’s research shows global warming has stopped, reports The Mail on Sunday.
In fact, Prof Curry said, the project’s research data show there has been no increase in world temperatures since the end of the Nineties – a fact confirmed by a new analysis that The Mail on Sunday has obtained.
Scientist who said climate change sceptics had been proved wrong accused of hiding truth by colleague (The Mail)
They’ve always been with us. Those who think anyone enjoying themselves must be doing something wrong. Those who couldn’t get a date or were picked on in school and never got over it. Those who know better than you and are ever vigilant to make sure you do what is best for you. Those who see impending danger everywhere and so must regulate it to “protect you”. And they are better than you for it. They are more responsible, more caring and “right”. They are the sanctimonious and never before have they had a cause that makes them feel so righteous as protecting mother earth from the ravages of man.
A glaring example of this psychosis is the criticism of the Olympic Torch where The Australian reports attempts to create the world’s first low-carbon “green” Olympic flame have failed.
The relay will begin at Land’s End on May 19 and the torch will be carried to every corner of Britain, including the Channel Islands, Northern Ireland and the Outer Hebrides.
However, the failure of designers Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby to produce a low-carbon torch was criticised. “We tried really hard to do that. We were very close, but we just ran out of time,” Mr Barber said.
The Commission for a Sustainable London 2012 said that was a poor excuse. “The promise of a low-carbon torch was made in 2007 and so the excuse of ‘we ran out of time’ is not acceptable,” chairman Shaun McCarthy said.

Why is a guy with a degree in Mechanical Engineering the “science guy”? He’s certainly not a climatologist. But because he’s the “science guy”, he’s an expert.
These are just the kind of experts the UN depends on for their climate studies.
This is pretty funny, if not pathetic. Read More at NewsBusters.org
At a town hall meeting in Mancester, New Hampshire today, Romney said,
I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that,” he told a crowd of about 200 at a town hall meeting in Manchester, New Hampshire.
It’s important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may be significant contributors.
That means he agrees with the UN but disagrees with over 31,000 bona-fide American scientist who have signed this petition:
This statement obviously doesn’t bode well for the prospect that Romney would rein in the EPA and its endangerment finding and economy-killing greenhouse gas regulations.
Romney’s never been at the top of my list but this takes him off the list.
In contrast; at an event in Manchester last week, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, also running for president, said that climate change is “the newest excuse to take control of lives” by “left-wing intellectuals.”
