A leading member of Richard Muller’s team has accused him of trying to mislead the public by hiding the fact that BEST’s research shows global warming has stopped, reports The Mail on Sunday.
In fact, Prof Curry said, the project’s research data show there has been no increase in world temperatures since the end of the Nineties – a fact confirmed by a new analysis that The Mail on Sunday has obtained.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has hit the ground running with its greenhouse-gas regulations. But congressional Republicans are just getting around to introducing well-intended, but futile legislation to stop the agency.
1. A political theory advocating state ownership of industry
2. An economic system based on state ownership of capital
… The Ole One-Two.
Ask most Republicans if the see themselves as a conservative and they’ll usually say: “Yes and offer a few conservative ideals.
Ask a Democrat if they see themselves as a liberal and they’ll usually say: “I’ not sure I would say liberal, it’s according to how you characterize the word… what the definition is and besides, I think we’re getting away from what people really want. You know at the end of the day it’s really about, have we done what’s best for the people.
Political tags – such as royalist, communist, democrat, populist, fascist, liberal, conservative, and so forth – are never basic criteria. The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire. — Robert A. Heinlein
Before the current crises that could be taken advantage of came along there was the ongoing crises of Climate Change. No longer Global Warming, (“there, that’s much better. Climate Change, that covers it and anyway, the really important point is, people are the cause”).
For the proponents of large government the economic crises was a godsend and could not have come at a more opportune time. When they control two out of three of the branches of federal government, you know, the ones that create and pass the laws and define the country’s direction. When you also realize the third branch is within your grasp, yes, these are good times to do what’s best for the people.
But the the green movement has been with us for quite a while and has slowly but surely gained incredible power. So powerful it’s cult status has risen to religion for some and socially correct to others. It will be with us after the economic crises but it will be exponentially strengthened as a direct result of the economic crises for much of the money being spent for the “economic correction” is being funneled to green projects and incentives. All resulting in greater government control.
“We can’t expect the American People to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism.” – Nikita Khrushchev
For the over ten years I have been watching this movement. studying real science as green gained momentum. I have been amazed at how media has massaged attitudes and thinking and I eventually came to the conclusion that; Rather than terrorism or an opposing country, its just as, if not more so, environmentalism that will be the downfall of America.
“America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our
freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” — Abraham Lincoln
How many historical movies or literature have you read where the court, church, government, or body of experts were wrong when presented evidence of scientific fact. They held to their most favored advisers or the socially correct version or the day. We are living this today.
All it takes is looking a little closer, questioning just a little bit. Al Gore and others would have you believe “the debate is over”, but that’s only their way of handling it.
Consider this, the UN’s IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) Assessment Reports are what environmentalist will refer to as proof that the debate is over. These Assessment Reports are signed by 2000 so called scientist, the majority of whom are not expert in climate study, meteorology or any earth science.
Yet you you will consistently hear, “The UN’s position…”
This is what the media and the left buy and sell.
What you do not hear is, scientist like Richard Lindzen, one of the lead authors of the IPCC’s 2001 Assessment Report frequently speaks out against the IPCC position that significant global warming is very likely caused by humans.
He is just one of several of the authors, many who no longer participate with the IPCC due to it’s politicizing science, and who are recanting their view or at least trying to clarify their view.
Nor do you here much about the Global Warming Petition signed by over 31,000 scientist which proclaims:
We urge the United States government to reject the global warming agreement that was written in Kyoto, Japan in December, 1997, and any other similar proposals. The proposed limits on greenhouse gases would harm the environment, hinder the advance of science and technology, and damage the health and welfare of mankind.
There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth.
It was serendipitous when I first found junkscience.com. Here was an intelligent, credible resource
exposing the pseudo science and carrying the banner of truth.
Steven Malloy is the force behind junkscience.com and if you want to understand the massive movement that is “environmentalism” then I strongly suggest you visit and bookmark www.junkscience.com
[amazonify]1596985852:right[/amazonify]Steven Malloy has written a new book that will educate, frustrate and anger you. Give yourself a chance, read this and then let me know if you don’t have questions… I dare you.
From the inside flap…
Big Brother Has Turned Green
The environmental movement has cultivated a warm and fuzzy public image, but behind the smiley-face rhetoric of “sustainability” and “conservation” lies a dark agenda. The Greens aim to regulate your behavior, downsize your lifestyle, and invade the most intimate aspects of your personal life.
In this stunning exposé, Steve Milloy unveils the authoritarian impulse underlying the Green crusade. Whether they’re demanding that you turn down your thermostat, stop driving your car, or engage in some other senseless act of self-denial, the Greens are envision a grim future for you marked by endless privation…
You can watch a video of C-SPAN breaking away from covering President Obama to cover Steve Milloy’s presentation of his new book Green Hell at the Heritage Foundation. Watch the full presentation here.
Some think he’s silly, some think he’s apocalyptic… I think he’s spot on 90% of the time (and even he wouldn’t want better odds) and he is funny.
Beck’s forte is his take on the absurd. And his material base grows exponentially daily.
He will make you laugh, cry, think and perhaps take action.
As a big believer and proponent of “We the People” he urges you to write your legislatures when the time is right as well as supporting several projects, such as The912Project.com
This and The Real America are must reads for the common sense conservative. Get to know Beck.
From Publishers Weekly
In this appraisal of America’s woes, conservative TV and talk-radio host Beck (The Real America) lays lighthearted siege to everything that makes the world worse. [P]olitical correctness is the biggest threat this nation faces today, he declares, as it makes us prey for Islamic fundamentalists, renders taboo the roots of our economic troubles (poor people are, in fact, lazy, he argues) and creates rampant distortion in the media. Beck goes paragraph for paragraph with global-warming alarmist Al Gore, merrily slaughtering the sacred cows of the environmentalist crowd. Not sated by the hide of the former vice president, he goes after everything and everyone from poverty to perverts, offering solutions to these and other problems (e.g., the key to success in the capitalist system is to believe in it). While often informative, as in his chapter on global warming, Beck is sometimes tedious, particularly when dealing with
“Glenn Beck shouldn’t be on [the air].” –Al Franken
The above quote should clue you in on just how good Beck is.
