Why not is what I want to know. The pundits write him off and many comments I read on blogs seem to think he’s a RINO. Maybe it’s because he’s been in Washington before and folks want a fresh face but you gotta at least look at what he did when he was there.
While others talk about what needs to be done Newt talks about “how to do it”.
Maybe quick soundbites or tested slogans stir a crowd while talking in depth can bore the listener. Maybe you just need to listen better.
Here’s a great example…
Newt calls the deficit reduction super committee a potential “disaster” at the Heritage Foundation
His books like “Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less” outline exactly what is wrong with our energy policies. The absurdity of the Dept. of Energy and exactly what can be done.
You may have recently heard about the oil sand in Canada and how that will benefit America as we will be buying oil from them but you may not know that we have considerably more oil sand and shale than Canada. Actually equating to the vast oil fields of the Middle East.
Why on earth aren’t we exploiting our resources and putting Americans to work to end this energy dependence and reduce cost.
We actually purchased Alaska for one reason… it’s resources. Yet we cannot exploit them.
Simple, the “EPA”.
Yet we let other countries, many not as responsible, exploit them, doing whatever the EPA thinks harmful (remember the environment is global). We send our money and jobs to them, paying more while stimulating their economy.
This is just the obvious. This is what everyone should see and understand. But yet they don’t.
Simple, the “media”.
Well I started to write a few days ago that we would be hearing how surprised everyone was at how well Newt Gingrich did in the Republican Debate in Ames, Iowa. I don’t know why. He has written several books the last few years as well as several documentaries. Working with American Solutions he has consistently put forth ideas, not only to the public but congress as well that are comprehensive, common sense, knowledgeable, proven and workable.
He is a true statesman and as an American Historian has a knowledge of this country that I would submit exceeds any elected official.
Other that the fact that he sat on a sofa with Nancy Pelosi, which disturbed me but shows that he will do whatever is neccassary to bring people together to find an American solution. You can’t sway someone if you don’t spend time talking to them. As far as his position on energy and global warming if you think he is anywhere near the left’s view then you don’t know Newt and have not read any of his writings. I mean, after all, he started the Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less campaign.
And for those who consider Newt a RINO, I think you’re just wrong.
It’s obvious you’ve forgotten what a RINO looks like.
At a town hall meeting in Mancester, New Hampshire today, Romney said,
I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that,” he told a crowd of about 200 at a town hall meeting in Manchester, New Hampshire.
It’s important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may be significant contributors.
That means he agrees with the UN but disagrees with over 31,000 bona-fide American scientist who have signed this petition:
This statement obviously doesn’t bode well for the prospect that Romney would rein in the EPA and its endangerment finding and economy-killing greenhouse gas regulations.
Romney’s never been at the top of my list but this takes him off the list.
In contrast; at an event in Manchester last week, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, also running for president, said that climate change is “the newest excuse to take control of lives” by “left-wing intellectuals.”
I have been humbled by all the encouragement you have given me to run. Thank you for your support. Be sure to watch Hannity this Wednesday at 9pm ET/8pm CT. I will be on to talk about my run for President of the United States.
That may still be a bit vague but considering Sean has been bugging him for years to announce on his show it could very well be the signal.
I would say Newt is my man but when I consider the following he’s got some ‘splaining to do.
Ever since I saw this I’ve been scratching my head. Knowing what I know about Gingrich this is like something from an alternate universe. So, yeah, he needs to speak to this and his explination needs to be on par with the Gingrich I think I know… if not, he’s lost me.
